V.P. and COO Joseph R. Held and Melissa Held Brody, Secretary/Treasurer and CFO.

Robert D. Held


Robert D. Held

Robert Held has more than 41 years of expertise in construction management, finance, tenant leasing and institutional coordination. A licensed general contractor and a licensed real estate broker, Robert Held has provided services in construction completion, project workouts, marketing, property management and sales for more than two million square feet of commercial and residential properties throughout the U.S. He has worked with such companies as Union Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, Santa Monica Bank, University of California, Los Angeles, Metropolitan Life, and Western Mortgage Corporation. Robert Held is affiliated with the Building Owners and Managers Association and the Construction Management Association of America. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior Blind of America. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis on Real Estate from the University of Southern California.
Joseph R. Held


Joseph R. Held

A 43-year veteran in the fields of construction and development, Joseph Held is responsible for overseeing Held Properties’ property management and construction departments. Prior to joining Held Properties in 1987, Joseph Held served as managing general partner of a development firm where he successfully completed more than 15 projects in Southern California. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Denver. A licensed general contractor and real estate broker, he is member of the Building Owners and Managers Association.

Melissa Held Bordy


Melissa Held Bordy

Melissa Bordy’s expertise in financial markets includes negotiations and issuance of over $500 million of debt/equity offerings, futures contracts and interest rate swap agreements. With more than 18 years of experience in financial planning, cash management, investment analysis and banking, Melissa Bordy has served as Vice President of Asset/Liability Management for California Federal Savings and Loan Association, Vice President of Financial Administration for Beverly Hills Savings and Loan Association, and assistant treasurer for R & B Enterprises, prior to joining Held Properties in 1987. She holds an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from the University of California, Berkeley, and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.

Department Heads


Gina Guarino

Gina Guarino’s primary focus is overseeing the leasing of Held Properties’ extensive real estate portfolio. Gina’s contributes over twenty-eight years of both general office, medical office and retail leasing experience. Prior to joining Held Properties, Guarino served as the Senior Leasing Agent of Douglas Emmett Management’s Sherman Oaks, Encino and Warner Center/Woodland Hills real estate portfolio for over seventeen years. Guarino previously served at Held Properties, Inc. for seven years and was responsible for the leasing and marketing of over 2 million square feet of office and medical properties. Ms. Guarino’s previous experience also includes serving as a Senior Leasing Manager for Quantum Realty in New York, where she managed multi-family and office properties while involved in the firm’s leasing, acquisitions and development projects.


Coburn (Cobe) Haskell

Cobe Haskell is the company Controller for Held Properties, responsible for the accounting and financial reporting for Held Properties and its affiliates, including the Century Park and Medical Centre Santa Monica properties. Cobe is a CPA (inactive) with over 25 years of controllership and consulting experience. Prior to joining Held Properties in 2012, Cobe served as Vice President, Accounting for The Todd-AO Corporation and Todd-AO Studios in 1990-2002 and provided consulting services to companies in a variety of industries since 2006. Cobe, originally from Pasadena, is a graduate of Stanford University and received his certificate in Accounting from UCLA.


Shawn Savage

Shawn Savage is the Senior Property Manager based out of Held Properties Century City Office. In this role she is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and operations of the properties located in both prestigious Century City as well as the beachfront city of Santa Monica. With more than 12 years of property management experience, Shawn has managed all types of commercial properties, has strong administrative skills, a deep knowledge of contracts, property accounting and excellent communication skills. Shawn has held her CA DRE Real Estate salespersons license since 2007, her CA Notary License since 2011 and has great appreciation for the Real Estate and Property Management industry. Shawn is also a member of BOMA GLA and is actively working towards her RPA Designation.

Office Administrator

Candice Dorsett

Candice is a seasoned Executive Assistant with over 20 years of experience in the administrative field, including more than a decade of experience as an Accounting Assistant and Bookkeeper in Property Management. Candice has a diverse professional background performing a high volume of administrative tasks including scheduling, correspondence, and office administration in the Legal, Financial and Commercial Property sectors. The expertise she gained over the past two decades provides for the seamless tailoring of her skills as she anticipates and exceeds the needs of various clients, executives, and colleagues. Candice consistently aims to surpass expectations and increase efficiency, productivity, and effective communication for every team she supports.

As an Office Manager, Candice has a sophisticated understanding of critical supporting roles and understands the necessity of confidentiality, attention to detail and organizational skills. Candice is also a licensed CA Notary Public and doting mother of a remarkable young boy.
