Harold A. Held
Chairman of the Board

Harold Held has been involved in the construction, development, leasing and operation of buildings in the greater Los Angeles area since 1946. With his son Robert, he founded Held Properties in 1984. During his 56-year career, Harold has developed, operated and managed the construction of over one and one-half million square feet of office space, and 600,000 square feet of medical office and clinical space. He is a licensed real estate broker and a licensed general contractor.

Robert D. Held
President and Chief Executive Officer

Robert Held has more than 26 years of expertise in administration, construction management, finance, tenant leasing, and institutional coordination. Robert Held has provided services in construction completion, project work-outs, marketing, property management, and sales for more than 2,000,000 square feet of commercial and residential properties throughout the United States. In this capacity, he has worked with such companies as Union Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, Santa Monica Bank, University of California at Los Angeles, Metropolitan Life, and Western Mortgage Corporation. Robert Held is a licensed general contractor and a licensed real estate broker.

Joseph R. Held
Vice President and Chief
Operating Officer

Joseph Held is responsible for overseeing the property management and construction departments. Joseph Held has been in the construction and development field for over 26 years. Prior to joining Held Properties in 1987, he was the managing general partner of a development firm where he successfully completed over 15 projects in Southern California. He is both a licensed general contractor and real estate broker. Joseph is currently a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association.

Melissa Held Bordy
Secretary/Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer

Melissa Bordy has over 18 years of experience in financial planning, cash management, investment analysis and banking. Her expertise in financial markets includes negotiations and issuance of over $500 million of debt / equity offerings, futures contracts, and interest rate swap agreements. Prior to joining Held Properties in 1987, Ms. Bordy served as Vice President of Asset/Liability Management for California Federal Savings and Loan Association, Vice President of Financial Administration for Beverly Hills Savings and Loan Association, and Assistant Treasurer for R & B Enterprises.

Gary E. Meier
Director of Property Management

In his 31 years with the Held Organization, Mr. Meier has filled many positions. For the past 13 years, he has been supervising the property management department. Prior to this, he supervised the construction and air conditioning departments. He has 37 years experience in building systems and heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Mr. Meier is a licensed contractor and a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association.

 

Spencer Sterrett
Director of Engineering Services

Mr. Sterrett has over 28 years experience in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, 19 of those at Held Properties. He manages the Mechanical Services Department and supervises daily maintenance in the areas of HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing. Mr. Sterrett is a licensed contractor.
